As Regina explores the ship, not only does she discover pile after pile of clothing and no bodies, she finds a fear not felt for years. Although she cannot know for certain something is there, an ominous orange light appearing out of nowhere leaves little doubt some unseen thing hunts her. And all that is just the beginning.
It is a time of restricted space travel so enforced that almost nobody can veer off course, but nobody knows why. They're about to find out.

I originally published this novel back in 2010 and had a re-edit done in 2015. In that time, I've not done much of anything to promote myself so I'm hoping to get a fan or two through Wattpad. Thanks and I really hope you enjoy it.

We all were hiding in random places, apparently any place we could find. There were a ton of zombies, the whole place was full of them. Many people from our group were lost to the virus. Muffled voices, blurred vision and heavy breathes were heard. The ship which everyone had longed for soon arrived. The plan was to run to the ship and never look back. The ferry was anchored at the harbor and on the signal, everyone ran for their precious lives, not daring to look back. Some people couldn't make it in 'The End' . The ones who survived were the last of us. Will the people make it in time? What hardships will they encounter along the way? The Patriot I is a smaller, weaponized ship with a tough crew to escort the Pioneer, a ship full of humans meant to colonize the far-away planet Z-031. The main issue is that Z-031 is thousands of years away. Even with Earth's advanced technology, it will take three hundred years to arrive. The Pioneer is a Generational Ship, meant to survive in flight for so long. The Patriot is not. The crew will have to be cryogenically-frozen within the ship, asleep in flight for three centuries. As soon as Genevieve opens her eyes after centuries of being asleep, everything goes wrong. The crew remains asleep. The ship doesn't have enough power to sustain them. Her mind is turning against her with the side-effects of the cryogenic-freezing sleep. Lastly, there are enemies lurking just outside the hull of her ship. Genevieve is losing track of what is happening, but what she knows for sure is that none of it is what she signed up for. Many thousands of years in the future, humanity has long since inhabited a region of space simply known as the "Habitable Zone of the Milky Way," or simply the "Habitable Zone." Many advancements have been made, though many are irrelevant to the billions -- or perhaps more -- of souls scattered across space. Everything operates under the silent, vague, but present scrutiny of the gods, with thaumaturgic talents dominating many human cultures in some capacity. Churches reign over the post-Altarum territories many years after the Silence. The World, at least as far as many within the Habitable Zone are concerned, is a cold, thoughtless plane of existence. It is within a single vessel, known as the CSS Groundskeeper, do things begin to influence the "Things To Be," as labeled by followers of the pantheon. Within this ship, two individuals will face the beginning of what is to be unimaginable horrors within an unforgiving universe, both with the same goal: do not succumb to the darkness.
