June 21, 2017 changed my life. 

The 2017 NHL Awards Show not only included trophies such as the Hart trophy and the Vezina. In addition, the roster for the new expansion team in Las Vegas was to be revealed. I silently prayed to God to let me stay in the place where I had been since I had been traded by the penguins at the draft several years ago. I watched the television screen in anticipation as GM George McPhee spoke.

Only four teams are left: Jason Jameson (Jets) and Gordon Kasey Greene (Golden Knights) in the West, and Nikita Chernyshyova (Capitals) and Lily Laughlin (Lightning) in the East. They and the other 27 teams travel to Winnipeg, Las Vegas, Washington DC, or Tampa Bay every single day to watch the games. This is a special season, too: It's Gordon Kasey's first year playing hockey, it's only Nikita's second time beating Peter Penguin out of eleven meetings in the playoffs, and if Jason wins it all, he'll be the first Canadian team to win the Cup in twenty-five years. Everything seems to be going well...until Katie Quick suddenly disappears. This is even more worrying than it sounds, because the Los Angeles native has cerebral palsy. The team jumps to conclusions, but suddenly they find their old rival's dead body in the center of Thunder Alley and Vladdy begins to question what is going on. However how can they, when the only clues the Bolts have are a dead body, a stuffed Gorilla and picture/note about Yzerchuk...?
