"Start from the beginning. What were those things?" Drea asks as she squeezes excess warm water from a rag into a glass bowl. She gently wipes the damp cloth over Kennessie's forehead with her shaky hand.

"We call them Purgatories. They collect lost souls. What you had witnessed were souls of people that carried too much guilt and sorrow to cross to the other side. Purgatories consume these souls and live off their misery. They search for more souls to corrupt. The lost souls entered your friend's body looking for life. Your friend, Miss Smith, was the light they seek. They were crying within her and filling her with their pain. It's a good thing you called in time. That many souls could have consumed her and dragged her with them back into the dark shadows. Back into the Purgatories. She would have been lost."
________________________________
Kennessee Smith was five years old when her mother had dropped her off with family members she's never met. Each week Grandmamma would come and teach the powers of witchery. During those times the neighbor kids would hide, including her best friend Nara. Kennessee, her cousins, and the wizard boy her auntie babysat would always be stuck sitting through treacherous and sometimes awkward amounts of teachings. However, there were no amount of teachings that could have prepared her for sudden attacks of soul harboring creatures summoned by somebody that wants her dead. She will learn not to trust easily. Those she had trusted have been keeping secrets.

How far would you let your revenge lead you? Would you let it turn you clinically insane? Would you let it drag you into uncharted realms and would you let it twist you into a liar to conquer such places? Someone did. To them, it's their story. It's another journey across six countries to find themselves and to discover the truth about their misshaped world. They search dangerous terrain, they take my help and use it for their foolish desires. The main brothers of this story will share how they used to be told stories about mythical figures and power by their Mother. Where in-between the lines of them, she would warn them about turning their backs on suspicious beings though what good is it to look behind when the real danger is instead right in front of you? It was a shame she never got to teach them that. Their story began on the sunniest day of the year, where one was in the middle of the ninth sea and the others were huddled in a small Tavern. The tension was high in that family and little did they know, they were on the edge of something grand. Something grand like meeting a power that a Mother's warning couldn't stop them from entertaining. The Dark age was slowly flowing in then and a plan ticked away like it had been for years waiting for the perfect time to unravel, which ironically struck on the first eclipse of the world. Where the Moon, finally caught the Sun. Their Mother taught me a important lesson. To teach me the right ways of being alive. What is a mortal if not selfish and cruel? What is a mortal if not hated and feared? What is a mortal if not a traitor? Who was she for believing chaos could be tamed by that? They were off to retrieve a stolen crown, to reclaim their lives and pathetic world. Along the way they found love and tears, they found family and together, they found their ruin. I was among them. I watched. I waited. I learnt. I lied. I took time to catch the Sun. My glorious Sun.

My life has been an intense journey from a little girl who was beaten down and abused into believing that she was worthless, to a woman at 43 years of age who is still desperately searching for who she truly is. I found her though. I did. And she writes like me, from inside of me. She is me. This girl that I've been in love with since time first existed, is indeed me. The way that she walks. With her hands... and how she talks? The hearts that she's captured, the souls that she has inspired. I'm now trying to be her. I've never felt that I was good enough to actually be myself!!! I always knew how pure and clear and free I was inside. But people told me otherwise, in a very cruel way. No one ever spared my feelings or thought to speak to me with kindness or love. My parents were very serious and strict people. They believed that there was only 1 way to act and inside I knew that I did NOT fit in the parameters of the behavior expected of me. And every single time I made my Step Daddy sigh or frown it felt like I knife in my heart. I was a let down. Always too loud. Always moving too much. Always too fat and always too ugly. Always too much. Unless I sat quietly. But I've always been a firecracker and all of that containment really made me want to blow off! All of what was inside of me, swirling and dividing in me. Burying the side of me that I loved the most! I was a bastard and a blasphemy. Harsh words for a girl of 3. They said them when they baptized me.
