Artemis Firestorm is 17 and coming of age. Meaning she'll soon be the new protector of Selyne. The mythical world of Fire. Every 150 years Selyne's King an queen will pick a new protector to protect Selyne from their dreaded enemies the Kalunn. But first Artemis will have to pass the king and queen's test of bravery, trust and loyalty. But when she goes out for a day, she meets a mysterious stranger in the woods claiming to be a runaway captive of the Kalunn's. But can she trust him? Or will she trust the king and queen's judgement and trust no one?

Louis Kalunn. An 18 year old Kalunn. Yes that's right a Kalunn hence his last name. But he's also the crowned prince of Kalunn. And he's so not ready to rule. When his father was on his death bed he had told Louis to take over to trust only himself and no one else. Now years later his late father's advisor is saying that if they don't act soon, the people of Selyne will take over. Louis's job is to find and kill Selyne's new protector before she's crowned the protector of Selyne. But he didn't know he'd fall head over heels for her. So what happens when he gains her trust?
