When the cloak came off, the nakedness beneath it was colored a warm, dark umber color. Something he had never seen before. The shade was one of a kind, like the sun had made love with the melanin that filled her skin like it was her first love. The runes that covered her were light, like they had been etched into her skin by the moon's very own hand. This woman... this creature, she was covered in the symbols they were all taught as children, but a few stood out to Orion the most. Death. Consequence. Chaos. Liar. Feral. What was she? Orion didn't know, but he knew that he had been shown this dream for a reason: as instruction. You weren't just given dreams like that to log into a journal and then forget about. This was a divine entity calling to a subject they deemed fit to do the chore. But Orion didn't even really believe in that entity. It seemed he'd been given an be objective: Kill her. Stop her from getting to him, and make her suffer for even planning to in the first place- especially after all that the young aloha did to save his pack. She was beautiful. She was terrifying. She was dangerous. ... but Orion was about to learn that this objective was going to be incredibly difficult to execute. Because she was all of those things. But she was also his mate. "I dreamed about you." she leaned closer, and I knew she was preparing herself to catch my reaction. "You were a wolf." I tried my best to hide my anxiety, and tried innocence. "A wolf?" I hope she didn't catch the tremor. "Mm-hm. A wolf. A were-wolf." She kept studying me. Was she actually considering it? C'mon, I just wanted a normal life! Don't tell me she had worked it out. "Remember when we talked about you running away from home? You called yourself a wolf." Ohhhh sh*t. Damn her and her memory. I closed my gaping mouth with a snap, and looked away. "Hey," she whispered. I closed my eyes. "I know this is crazy but... are you?" I glanced back, worried to high hell. "Am I what?" She sighed. "A were-wolf, are you a were-wolf." She looked tired, and I wondered what she was thinking. My voice was hoarse. "Maybe." She looked as if she had been just shocked with electricity. "What?" Oh sh*t. What was I doing? "Maybe." I repeated. She still looked shocked. "Maybe I'm a werewolf. Maybe I was that wolf you saw in the bush yesterday. What would you do if I was?" "I don't know. Are you pulling my leg?" She watched me warily, and I leaned in close. "No." I pressed my lips to hers, and felt her tremble. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Diana Wednesday thinks that she's just going to have a normal, care-free gap year, where she'll find a boyfriend, get a job and live a life, maybe with her BFF Pippa.
