"Dawson, why is this all not weird to you?"
I stepped into the kitchen and sat myself on the counter.
He grabbed a sparkling sofa out of the fridge and turned to me, shutting the fridge.
"Because doll face, obviously this is Them. We are just their next experiment. Didn't you learn about them in elementary?"
I looked at him and began to laugh.
"You don't actually believe in that, do you?"
I let my laugh fade away. He took a swig of the carbonated drink.
"It's not just something they tell you. It's true. Think about it. Blank building, robots, isolation, and order. They are pampering us before they put us in."
"In what?"
"Ugh, you really went the smartest dollface. In the dome."
"Okay, please remind me of why they are putting us in a fucking dome????"
He chuckled, "to conduct a social experiment. No biggy. It's under strict guidelines, all done my robots through humans. No harm will come to you. Of course they will try and scare us with a few deadly animals, but everyone makes it out alive. Plus, they pay you and your family."
He picked a bright red juicy apple off of the counter and took a bite. He sighed in content as if it were the best apple he'd ever eaten. It was almost cute.
"So, how long does it last?"
He shrugged and responded with a chunk of apple half chewed in his mouth, "depends."
