      Serena meanwhile has returned back to home to Kalos after competing in Pokemon Contests in Hoenn. She is yearning for another adventure, just like the one she had a year ago... with her childhood crush Ash.
      Little do they both know that they will cross paths sooner than expected - which will take them on a journey of a lifetime.

After travelling though Kalos without encountering Serena even once and finishing his journey in Alola as the newly crowned Champion, Ash returns to Kanto only to find that he will be attending school in Kalos. The Kalos Institute of Technology. Most of the young and rising Pokemon trainers have been invited to this academy.
