A great war broke out in America. All the states have turned against each other, and now are their own individual countries. In one of them, they take complete control of their citizen’s lives from the day they’re born. They take their name, and give them one of an animal attaching them to that one creature forever. Also training them from a young age in order to put them into the battles. The little freedom they have, is the choice on their sixteenth birthday.
Fight in the war, or be executed.
Jay with her close and only friend, Fox, have grown up in this society since they can even remember. They have no idea about the outside world, and just go with life the way it is. The only information they’ve ever heard about it id from the stories Fox’s Grandfather tells them from the olden days before the war. He tells them that everything changed drastically, but everything will be better tomorrow.
Once their birthday’s come up, Jay know exactly what she’ll do. Fight for her country of course, but what happens when Fox chooses the other path? Will she let him be killed, or does she go against the country she chose to serve and help him escape?
