When Avery Watson graduates from high school and moves nearly eight hours away to attend University of California in Santa Barbara, her (over)protective older brother Jake's only consolation is that his best friend since childhood, Alex Everett, goes to the same school.
Much to Avery's annoyance, Jake makes Alex promise to look out for his baby sister.
But as obnoxious as Alex can sometimes be, the more Avery spend time with him, the more she realizes that her feelings are beginning to change. Suddenly, she doesn't see Alex as just another older brother. In fact, she might actually be falling for her brother's best friend.
Not that it matters, because Alex could never feel the same way about Avery...
