The Alpha Initiative is a very secret, very illegal, experimental project headed by a dangerous scientist who is far more than just a "little" mad. Forced breeding between different shifter species, gene splicing, and inhumane experiments are a few of the means utilized to create the perfect species. This new breed of shifter will be the alpha of all species that will head the world into a new era of domination, where humans are no longer at the top of the food chain.
Alex, aka Test Subject A, has been experimented on by mad scientists from her earliest memories. She's a hybrid shifter, born and bred in captivity solely for her unique ability to adapt her shift form to dominate any situation, and any opponent. These scientists will do everything and anything to keep her in their possession.
During transportation to another facility across the ocean, the ship Alex is being held on is raided by pirates and she is taken prisoner. An illusion that was put on Alex to mask her female scent and make her appear male, may be the only thing that saves her from a much worse fate at the hands of the ruthless pirates. Only problem is, if she ever shifts, the illusion will break and reveal her true self.
Is the fact she's female the real reason for keeping her identity hidden, or is it something with much worse consequences if ever brought to light?
Which will be the lesser of two evils in the end: pirates or mad scientists?

He's been considered exotic or a freak depending on your viewpoint. After years of fighting he has taken a job to help shape up the next generation. One of his students catches his eye. (the first few pages are from Alex's viewpoint then the rest is from Tyler's viewpoint. Changed up to better get into the story.) Excerpt: As for my background, I was born to a rogue mother. The rumors don't lie, I am a Chimera." the entire room seemed to gasp. I sighed. I hated having to announce that but if I didn't I got all kinds of looks and questions best to have it out at the beginning. "For those of you who don't know the truth of what that is. A chimera in mythology is a creature that is a hybrid. In medical terms it is someone or something that has a genetic duality. There's something to ask Mr Norris about in biology tomorrow." I heard a few laughs and giggles. "For my part I am called Chimera because I have more than one full shape to shift into and can blend them at will. Once upon a time there was a girl name Evangeline King, Eve for short. She lives in a world full of shifters and non-shifters. Her parents were the King and Queen of people that hated shifters. Eve never believed them, because her best-friend was a shifter. His name is Daniel Grey, he could shift into a tiger. He would hide his secret from the others. But one day, Daniel vanished and Eve never saw him again. Over time her parents died, and her name and kingdom were forgotten. Eve became poor and went to live with her friend Amber. Who worked at the bakery, in a small village called Shimmer. Eve lived there for years, working at the local tavern to earn money to help Amber. To this very day, Eve still wonders what happened to her golden tiger.Concluida

Now, fifteen years after Fletcher left, he's returning home to accept the mantle of alpha from his father and lead the pack. But, Lillian is also coming home at the same time. Her grandparents passed away, so she's come to wish them one final farewell. Poor Fletcher is in for one hell of a surprise. Not only is he the father of teenage twin sons, but their mother is not the meek little girl from his memories. No, his sons are alphas, therefore only a stronger alpha can provide the support they need to grow up confident but respectful. Who is this stronger alpha? Why, their mother, of course. This story is one of my pet projects, so I make no guarantees about how often it will be updated. But I hope you enjoy it!
