Eighteen -year-old Lydia Brynner wants nothing more than to hang out at Kingston University's science lab so she can study genetics and the side-effects of the Daemon Virus. She may not possess super powers like some other students who have inherited the virus over the centuries, but what she lacks in genetic mutations, she makes up for in tenacity and geekiness. Unfortunately, her perfect study plan is thrown off course when she is assigned to apprentice - aka *babysit* - the recently enrolled "Chosen One," a ridiculous girl more interested in partying her way across campus than attending class. Lydia might not understand all the details about the Chosen One's Medieval prophecy, but she definitely knows that the spoiled Krisette de Winters certainly won't be miraculously curing any diseases anytime soon. But when a new strain of the Daemon Virus infects a few students on campus, Lydia's job as Kris' apprentice becomes a whole lot more complicated with the arrival of her overbearing bodyguards. And just when Lydia finally feels like she's (mostly) got things under control, her best friend, Liz, is infected with the D-Virus. Terrified for Liz and determined to help, Lydia jumps into hyper-drive, researching every angle of the mysterious virus strain. As campus locks down around them -- parties cancelled, classes postponed -- Lydia discovers the truth isn't in how the virus is spreading -- but who is spreading it. Someone infecting students on purpose could only have one target: Krisette, the Chosen One, goddess reincarnate of the prophecies. This outbreak is morphing into something much bigger than Lydia could have ever imagined. Unsure of who to trust, Lydia races to find the culprit before the virus consumes her friends, her school, and her life.Todos os Direitos Reservados
