A future Earth, aliens took over, were at first mistaken for vampires due to dietary needs and extraordinary lifespans, as well as rapid healing and unusual strength. Maybe they spin a wheel to decide which planet to conquer next. Harac as a name for the humans came that way, too, as did all the proper names. The "o" is Rofin is long, there is a slight "r" sound, but it wasn't quite Rorfin, I did my best. Dreams do not always follow waking phonetics rules. Sophie's full name was longer still, but I couldn't remember all of it. Many thanks to the assorted SF and Fantasy writers whose works inspired this short story.
