It’s planet Earth, year 2236. There was a new virus that was found in the planet and it’s infecting everyone really quickly. The scientific community has developed a robot that would analyze if the person had the virus and instantly vaccinate them. The vaccine used was really strong and would kill if the virus weren’t in the person’s system. There was a problem in the programming of the robots and they stopped analyzing the person and just vaccinated everyone. There were cities that were infested with the robots and decided to close down the city’s walls so the robots would stay locked in that area. A group of people were running away from city to city trying their hardest to survive.

The country's government created a robot corp that is in charge of eliminating threats to the world. While this corp was being made scientists were also developing a virus, a powder, that could give humans abilities to protect the world by themselves without the robot suits. While transporting a few sample robots and the virus in a plane, the virus accidentally flies out and sprinkles across a rural area. The virus could only affect people with O-negative blood, so they had to check the records for everyone in a 15-mile radius with this blood type. A group escapes and plans on releasing the rest of the people captured.Complete

The machines molded into killers, destroying Utopia and everything it was promised to be. The people begged the Utopian government to resolve the problem, but instead they fled to pre-made shelters and sent soldiers to control the rebellious, fearful citizens. The empire of safety became known as the Mechanical Hell, but was shortened to a simpler name: Mech. Can the rebellion free the struggling human race from the evils of their gigantic steel prison? Everything started in 2036. The pollution was so bad that the end of the world was predicted to be right around the corner. As complete panic set in around the world, the rich and important people were all gathered and placed on giant spaceships with enough resources and room to house generations of human beings. Before they left though, the government leaders fired As a result, most of the human population died off and earth was a complete wasteland. The little that survived started building local communities and trying to survive in the destroyed excuse of a planet. On the disaster of a planet, creatures mutated and were born out of the nuclear chemicals; creating new species and monsters that hunted humans. While hundreds and hundreds of years passed, the monsters kept evolving and the people kept adapting while still trying to keep a sort of community. They didn't want to lose all of their humanity and become nothing more than animals that hunted the monsters: then they would truly be no better than the monsters themselves. So they stayed civil while still doing what it took to survive.Complete

But getting this help came at a great cost. Once they're out and free, they realize the head scientist isn't letting them get away that easily. A Different Virus - Laura's Story
This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent?
