I pull my shoulder out from under Will's hand. He doesn't understand. Everyone I've ever loved has been taken away from me. I can't let that happen to him too.
I turn my head to Will's, tears fighting to get past both our eyes.
"You wouldn't understand. No one ever does. It's to late for me." I was never meant to be loved. I try to turn away but he grabs my chin.

The death of Nico's first and closest friend Jason Grace puts a sudden end to the sunshine that currently brightens Nico's life for once. His death triggers a lot of things for him, and shines light on a lot of his unresolved trauma. Will Nico be able to make it through this without his mental stability completely breaking once and for all? Will Nico be able to let people in enough to help him get through it? And what about the mysterious dreams that Nico keeps having of his mom? And who really is this little girl that knows nothing about her past?
