In the far reaches of the Sovereignty's northernmost territories, the law has finally caught up with one of Zaedath's most notorious spies.

Accused traitor, rogue magus and former spy Katrina Ralyntine had always been known for her honeyed words and silver tongue. For years, she had prospered from a life of espionage among the ranks of the Shadlyr spy rings spread throughout the continent, bringing down some of the most influential nobles, scientists and political figures. She's framed priests for murder and brought industries to their knees and at the height of her career, her world came crumbled in the wake of deception and betrayal.

After three years spent in hiding high in the mountains of the Rumundanas, her luck has reached its end. She's captured, beaten and thrust at the feet of a northman savage turned Sovereignty tracker who offers her a choice on behalf of the Sovereignty itself: five years of servitude spent as Sovereign mole in a rival nation or her life.
