Alison moved to a new town as her father got a new job, simultaneously, she decided to hide her dark past, starting a new chapter of her complicated teenage life. She tucked her auburn hair tighter into a bun and searched for the next class when she passed a group of boys right outside the designated class. Clutching her hand inside the sweatshirt pocket, she watched as the bulky brown haired boy slammed his fist against the wall right beside the poor boy's face, glaring as the boy flinched, slumping his head further down. "What are you looking at!" He snapped, noticing the unfamiliar girl stood watching them. "Is this rude guy bothering you?" She ignored, asking the poor boy instead, earning a scoff from the baffled brown haired boy. Their first encounter was of mutual dislike. As they continue to bicker and argue on every possible occasion, Jason could not help but felt rather intrigued with Alison. Jude doesn't talk. He can't, even when he wants to. They don't want to hear what he has to say, and they only use their words to hurt him. So why even try anymore? Starting at a new school seems like the perfect opportunity to blend into the background, but it isn't far enough away to start over. Some people just won't let him forget about his past. The teachers don't understand. He can't tell them why. He can't say anything at all. Ross understands. Ross writes to him. Slowly, he pulls Jude out of his shell, waiting for him to say something. ----- Say Something is a story of overcoming fear with the help of friendship and love. As someone who has struggled with anxiety, I tried to do something a little different with my writing style this time by including a lot of thoughts and feelings rather than a ton of description and detail. I'd like to add that it mentions things like sex and violence but I don't plan on going into any graphic detail in this story. There is also occasional cursing. My stories are organized by emotional theme, beginning with one story about emotion in general, and then moving through stories expressing distractedness, frustration, argument, love, fear, grief, sadness, humor, innocence, and self-love. About a year ago, I discovered my love for the short story and decided to build a collection of shorter works. I'm so glad I did; the variety of plots, characters, and settings I got to explore taught me so much, and I am beyond pleased with what I have to share.
