Alien-obsessed Benjamin Branston has been labeled a nerd in his high school for as long as he can remember. He’s been happy with spending most of his time to himself and his hobby. Everything changes one winter night when he finds a mysterious girl in his backyard who reveals herself to be an alien sent to investigate Earth for research purposes. Instructed to not reveal the existence of her race to the whole human population just yet, the girl (who takes on the name Luna Ellis) turns to Benjamin for protection and guidance as she learns about the culture and life on planet Earth. Quirky and charming, Luna stirs up Benjamin’s life with her strange antics and childish interest in the new world around her. They both know that eventually, Luna has to leave to report back to her planet. But what will happen when Benjamin begins to fall for her?

Luna Lexis is sixteen years old. But she is unlike most sixteen-year-old girls you've ever met. Luna has no idea what the outside world is like. Since she turned twelve, Luna has been living in a scientific base dedicated to quarantining people from all around the country of New Delta in a dystopic North America. Years ago, a disease spread across the population, killing thousands. Nobody knows where it came from. They call it the Black Fever, and it has the ability to kill a person within days. Luna has had the Black Fever since she was twelve. Or, so she has been told. While the scientists who run tests on her daily tell her it's a miracle she's survived this long, she can't help but feel that something is wrong. She hasn't felt sick a day in her life. So how could a deadly disease be coursing through her veins? What are the scientists not telling her? But when Luna comes in contact with Carson Cole, everything will change, secrets will be revealed, and people may fall in love.
