Gray has always secretly liked Natsu but has always been too scared to show it. The only rease why he fights with him is so that they have a strong bond. One day Natsu goes on a job that was risky but he wanted to do it. A few days later fairytail get a message that Natsu is in a critical state and will most likely die. When Gray hears the news he goes crazy and not able to control his emotions.
