Life has not been kind to Mallory Lancaster. And it never will be. At least that's what she thought. After being isolated by her friends from the drama club, Mallory didn't expect good things from life anymore. However, a complication arrives when she meets the guy who had supposedly taken her place in the drama club. Mallory has yet to figure out if he's a gift from life, or an addition to her list of tragedies.

Derrick McLain, like Mallory, has been bombarded by life's artillery. Unlike Mallory however, he didn't let that get to him. He lived a carefree life, pushing away his worries and woes. Never has he opened up to anyone. Never have he faced his problems. Never, that is, until a certain nerd stumbled- more like face planted- into his life.

When life gets you down, you get back up, that enough is clear. Or is it? Will Derrick and Mallory both open each other's world or will they both stay in their secluded corner, never knowing what the world can hold?
