Vic and Kellin are high school juniors. Vic is popular, and has it all, or so it seems. Kellin is picked on, and has a poor family life. After Kellin attempts to get emancipated- but doesn't succeed, he decides to run away. To him, being homeless, poor, wet, and cold seems much better than going to home or school.
But Vic, one of the people who has poked fun at Kellin, couldn't imagine life without him.
