Yes, I was a vampire. Not the pale, disgusting, bloodthirsty kind, although I had tasted my fair share of blood before- I didn't need it to survive, but it enhanced my abilities and satisfied a primal instinct.
Yes, there are werewolves. Not the disgusting, monstrous kind either. They were humans when they wanted to, and wolves when they lost control.

Evolved to be the two most dangerous predators on the planet, we were enemies by design.

But human technology had evolved too, and they were coming for me. The hunters, an elite group of humans dedicated to hunting us down and killing werewolves and vampires alike, had formed not even two decades ago. Vampires were considered a priority target, much more dangerous than our rivals. That was why my kind had almost nearly been wiped off the face of the earth.

But I was a survivor.
And I'd rather face a dangerous Alpha with a pack of angry wolves behind him, than the alternative.

My Mother Runs With Wolves

51 parts Complete

A genetically unique but emotionally lost teenager must figure out who she is within her mixed-up, warring world of Shifters and Wolfstalkers. ***** It wasn't Maddie's choice to be born a half-breed, half Shifter, half Wolfstalker -- a hunter of Shifters -- and it wasn't her choice to keep her identity a secret. But after trying to attend high school like any normal sixteen-year-old, things quickly spiral south when her Stalker uncle finds out about her and catapults her out of anonymity and into the awareness--or possibly the crosshairs--of The Order of the Wolfstalker. Maddie must think fast and figure out a way to keep herself and her family safe, or risk losing everything. Including her life. [[word count: 70,000-80,000 words]]
