Grace liked spring. She liked how it brought new beginnings and she liked the idea of it being a time for second chances. Nowadays, spring brings her pain.

The eighty-sixth annual Diamond City eisteddfod is one of Grace's many banes of her existence. One would never have thought playing the piano used to be Grace's favourite past-times.

This is a story about expectations, the discovery of self and independence. It is a half-standalone half-companion short-story written for an English assignment, so please excuse any discrepancies.
