"The fanatic emphasis on 'Plan B' that professionals talk about is not a coward's fall-back system. It serves a purpose, a purpose that a strategist has envisioned and planned before the need for an alternate solution surfaces." ― Andy Paula When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, right? Wrong. When life gives you lemons, you throw them right back and ask why the hell would you want lemons? They're gross and sour. Although, if life throws a curve-ball at you in the shape of a universe you didn't even know existed, you'd totally take it right? Just maybe not by choice. Maybe you'd fight a little, you'd go kicking and screaming. That's what Ripley did. Her whole life was thrown upside down in the blink of an eye and she had no idea what it actually mean to her, or to her family. She went from a normal school girl who worried about homework and what time she was going to the mall with friends to a girl who was wondering when she'd get a new blade or whether she'd be able to protect her family the next time the darkness came. Follow Ripley on her journey of self discovery, loss and abandonment in the first of the series 'The Dark Bridge'.

Do your genes, your parents, teachers, or your master determine who you will be in life? Can they set your value in the universe? 650 years ago the known species of the universe came together and signed the Alliance, a document that would help each race find its place in the universe. It granted freedom to some and the scant protection of slavery to others. Into this society a handful of children are born who will change it forever, if they can survive to adulthood. Here is the origin story of two of those children. Hathu is born to a man determined to make the universe bow to him and his species. Since he learned to talk, Hathu has been a disappointment to his father. He doesn't want to become a warrior, and he refuses to assert his dominance. When he accidentally overhears his father plotting against the Ir'Klahn empire, can Hathu stop him? Mik is born with no rights, destined to become a lifelong slave. His mother tries to protect him from this fate by running away and finding a home for them on a trading ship that travels from world to world. They are safe for now, but how long can they hide from the best trackers in the universe? This is the first book in the My Kingdom Come series. Updates every Tuesday. :) My 2021 Nanowrimo so please excuse the unedited condition of the story. Be warned: there is violence, rape, murder, abuse, self harm and suicidal thoughts in this story. I do not post trigger warnings.
