A few seconds later and the door swung open. I found myself looking at Elliot, my older cousin. He had short red hair, green eyes and an angular face. He grinned when he saw me.

'Vi!' he said, pulling me into a tight embrace,'I haven't seen you in years.'

He gestured for me to come in, and politely took my bag. I entered the long hallway, which was, in my opinion, a lot like a museum and paint factory were in a tragic explosion together. The wooden floor had long since changed from it's original colour, and a tattered rug (probably a replica of one found in Tutinkamun's tomb) lay on the floor, and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if undiscovered lifeforms had started an agricultural society beneath it. The walls, as always, were a creative puke colour, and if I looked at it any longer, I feared that that particular shade might have competition with the inside of my handbag.
