Luke Hemmings, one out of four members of the rising band 5 Seconds of Summer. He moves to LA with the band to make their careers easier. There he finally meets his best friend, Nicole Reyes, after 5 years of not seeing or talking to each other after she moved there for a sport scholarship.

A lot can happen in five years, Nicole has changed slightly. She isn't the same quiet girl Luke had known. Now, Nicole is the female Ice Hockey star that has got the Hockey world taken by surprise. And much to Luke's disappointment, she's got a boyfriend.

When Nicole had lived in Australia, all he ever saw her as was his bestfriend. But not only do people change in the space of 5 years, feelings change to. Luke tries his hardest to pull through with Nicole constantly having her boyfriend, the schools' Quarterback, around.

Trevor, her boyfriend, is the jealous kind and he starts to get over-possessive of Nicole and she's too oblivious to everything that she doesn't even notice. Luke then has to handle having his best friend away from him once again.

All he can do is wish something will happen that'll get Nicole back.

And once that wish is granted...what will Luke do?

🌸 So far, so good. Despite everything, Madeline's still standing, still living - though her life has been upended more than once. Moving from America to England wasn't exactly easy but oddly enough, the return was much simpler. With little more than the bare minimum from her parents, and diabetes always complicating things, she had to rely on her brother for real help. Now, as she steps back into Nashville, she wonders how this might realign her path. Somehow, everything feels like it's falling into place. She's exactly where she needs to be - though there's one complication : a boy. Something she didn't planned at all. And maybe he's part of the plan, too. Maybe for the better. 🏒 Hockey has always been one of Jude's greatest loves, ever since he can remember. And to be blunt, he's damn good at it. But don't mistake him for the typical player type you read about in books. He doesn't have girls lining up outside his door, and when there is someone, he treats her right - once, and only once. It's a rule he set for himself. He met his best friend Colin during a hockey game, both rooting for opposite teams. Colin was on the wrong side, of course, but somehow, they became inseparable. Colin has diabetes, so over time, he learned how to help. What he didn't expect was for that knowledge to help him with a girl. A girl more complicated than any genetic disease. But maybe that's a challenge worth taking. ° ° ° Welcome to this new book. Please don't forget to vote, comment and share ❤️

[actively editing] With her nose in books and his brawn getting him nowhere on or off the ice, they find themselves drawn together, sharing their baggage and learning what it might mean for each of them to love again. Jake Bryers is no stranger to the pressures of being a professional hockey player. It's something that he's dealt with consistently for the past fifteen years. Throughout his career, he's experienced it all-the electric thrill of winning divisions and conference titles, and even making it to the Stanley Cup Finals on more than one occasion. His dream was always to skate the cup at least once, but as he enters the late stage of his long, tumultuous career, he finds himself struggling to perform like he once had as a younger, inspired player. Harper Clark has been proficient at one thing throughout her life-constantly moving forward without really going anywhere. After having moved to the Big Apple to pursue a better life outside of the dangerous one she found herself leading in the Midwest, she finds herself stagnating after getting her degree from Columbia. She quietly enjoys her job at the public library, treading water while the undeniable feeling of discontent grows stronger within her. It's nothing short of fate when Jake and Harper happen to cross paths at the library, and though their lives couldn't be any more different, they find themselves inexplicably drawn to one another as they try to navigate mending each other's wounded hearts.
