There was no struggle. No scream. Nothing that could have tipped me off.
Just a goodbye beforehand, a simple one- I'll see you in a few minutes. 
I'll be back in a few hours.
A few hours later was not simple.
A few hours later was black blood and birds calling out and then utter, desolate silence.

I wanted to run and fight, but I couldn't. It was no use, they were already dead. I touched my mother's silver dragon necklace. I took it from her, after she died. Struggling to fight back tears, I tripped over a tree root, and fell to the ground. I was lost, and hopelessly so.

Somewhere in her heart she was determind that her father was alive as well, and that something was being held back. She knows she can't and won't stand this for any longer. She must venture out to find her lost family and make peace to her mother and father's unexpected alternate form. Finding that they are completely different animals, she must find a way to unite them and make peace before they are wiped out. They are completely different types with no similarities and different ways of thinking, but having a broken family is hard, and maybe, just maybe, if she can glue these two halves back together, she might start to feel whole again.
