The Magician's Estate (NaNoWriMo2016)

A greatly famed magician has passed away; death by heart attack. His daughter and her husband are having an estate sale to get rid of all his old magic tricks so they can move into the manor, attracting a wild assortment of magicians from all over the world. Conor is not one of them. He's just the boy with a limp who lives down the street. Curious about the manor and his new neighbors, he attends the sale and finds himself in the middle of a murder mystery. He and the Magician's granddaughter, Maggie, discover a body identical to her grandfather, only this one is bloodied with a knife in his chest. The police arrive, examine the body and it disappears. But not before they determine the time of death, earlier during the estate sale. And the whole while Maggie is insisting that her grandfather's magic has been real the whole time.
