What happens when more than a million people fall into a coma for some unknown reason? The world falls into chaos and thousands of people are trying to figure out what happened. Meanwhile, that same group of people are transported into another world resembling a video game. Among them are two adolescents named Dustin and Ele, who are tasked with figuring out how to survive in this new place and the way to beat it in order to return back to their own world.
Dustin goes on to become a sword fighter that is second in command of a guild while Ele stays behind as a cook to help those who can't fight. However, everything goes awry when countless priests and magicians are slaughtered.
Unknown to both Dustin and the remaining population, Ele is hiding something important. With her secret comes a renewed hope of beating this virtual reality for good, that is, if she can survive.

"What the hell?" I took a step closer to the mirror, staring at my reflection in disbelief. The person looking back was still me, but at the same time it wasn't. I had the same thick, dark, curly hair. The same hazel eyes. The same olive skin with a light dusting of freckles (ugh) scattered across the bridge of my nose. But my curls were now streaked with highlights. And not the subtle, golden-brown ones that sometimes appeared during the summer. No, these were an aggressive, dazzling blond that went from the roots of my hair all the way to the tips. It looked like I had spent a full day getting my hair done in some upscale salon. Never mind that I had never set foot in such a place since the day I was born. My eyes appeared somehow wider and more luminous. The colour brighter, my eyelashes darker up against them. And, when I looked closely, my pupils seemed to be slitted almost like a cat. I looked down at my body. My skinny arms-which had always refused to gain any definition no matter how hard I exercised-were lined with flat, wiry muscles. My bony shoulders were now curved and smooth. My scrawny legs were toned like a dancer. I reached down and lifted my shirt, revealing two subtle lines running vertically down my perfectly flat stomach, hinting at the rock-hard abs underneath. The Wolf Witch
Sora has no place in the world. She is meant to be a strong warrior, with the ability to shift into a wolf. She is none of those things, and looked down upon because of it. It brings shame to her, it brings shame to her family, and worst of all, it brings shame upon her prideful and strong brother. There is but one person who truly knows and loves her, but does he really? Magic is not the weapon of a warrior, magic is the weapon of a coward. Sora has been told that all her life, but she has magic within her, recently awakened, and so she has begun to doubt it. Still, witchcraft is punishable by death, and so Sora must be careful with her practices, lest she lose all she has. Sora is a better witch than wolf, though not by much, but she still pursues that craft in spite of the dangers. Her place in the world is a dangerous one, but will it last? The world she lives in is a dangerous one, and such a life as hers rarely ends happily. Disclaimer: this is a short prequel, Sora's story does not conclude with this one. If you finish this book and go "oh, that's the end?" it's because it's not the end. I'm writing a trilogy called Mortance that explores the larger world that this takes place in and concludes Sora's story more thoroughly than in this book.
