The Heart of the King

The tension grew in the silence. She can feel his eyes on her. Ignoring his stare, she watched the heated flames danced between them. Evolet's eyes widened when she saw the flames morph into shape.

A man and woman.

Khai.

Evolet looked up and her collided met his colt bolt ones, was he doing this?

Glancing down at the flames. The figures moved with grace. Every step, turn and dip looked peaceful. It was gentle the way he held her as if she was his. Her movements match his, letting him lead her. The way he looked down at her as if... in love.

They looked peaceful.
Enchanted by the trick, she felt lighter she felt the warmth of the fire hug her body. She could help but smile.

Evolet looks over to Khai expecting him to be across from her, he was no where to be seen. Her heart jumped to her throat.

Before she could get up and look for him. Suddenly she felt pressure on her shoulder, her chest tightened and chills climbed up her spine. His large hand glides down from her shoulder to her wrist wrapping her small hand around his.

Without a word he gently pulls her from the log to an open space near the fire.
Fully aware of his every move, surprised, she laughed when he pulled her into his arms. His gaze met hers and her heart jumped once more.

Khai grabbed her hand that was on his chest and placed it on his shoulders. His hand went to her waist and pulled her tight aginst him until she can feel all of him pressed against her.

Then she realized something.

They were the flames.
