Meet Cynthia Alcala: proud Latina, smart, straight A student, loves to read, and enjoys watching bad reality TV shows and cat videos in the comfort of her bedroom. While she and her family stand pajama clad in their driveway watching the scene of firefighters battle it out with the flames unfold, her neighbors gather from up and down her street to watch with them. Whispering and gossiping.
But what happens when Manuel, Cynthia's dad's friend, invites her family to live with them until they can get back on their feet? What happens when Cynthia and Hector are forced to live under the same roof for possibly several months?
