Meet Cynthia Alcala: proud Latina, smart, straight A student, loves to read, and enjoys watching bad reality TV shows and cat videos in the comfort of her bedroom. She's sarcastic and opinionated, and most days, very easily annoyed. And while she's easy to be around and friends with practically everyone at school, she'd rather shove scissors in her ears than be around Hector Rodriguez.
When Cynthia's house is set on fire due to the event in which some moron thought it be funny and a good idea to light up a bag of shit at her front door, her family is left, in the most literal sense of the word, homeless. All their belongings, such as family pictures, home videos, their clothes, electronics, books, embarrassing baby photos, prized possessions with sentimental value, gone. While she and her family stand pajama clad in their driveway watching the scene of firefighters battle it out with the flames unfold, her neighbors gather from up and down her street to watch with them. Whispering and gossiping.
But what happens when Manuel, Cynthia's dad's friend, invites her family to live with them until they can get back on their feet? What happens when Cynthia and Hector are forced to live under the same roof for possibly several months?
Feeling will soar and secrets will spill and all thanks to a 'great' idea and a burnt bag of shit.
Elliot Jensen and Elliot Fintry have a lot in common. They share the same name, the same house, the same school, oh and they hate each other but, as they will quickly learn, there is a fine line between love and hate.
