When Bad Gets Worse

In recent years, Jayce and Madelyn have both had what seems like everything turned on their heads.

Jayce's stepfather suddenly abandoned his mother, who turned to external sources when she found it difficult to cope. In turn, he had to resort to some, 'unscrupulous' methods in order to make sure the bills get paid. He also made some relationships which will come back to bite at his heels.

Madelyn parents are experiencing a rough patch in their marriage. Her dad moved out and her mom is going through a mid-life-crisis, never really home and has been partying and leaving Maddie to take care of her little sister. She's also plagued by the pressure of society. Expected to always do well, at the top of her class. Not to mention Brandon, her possessive ex-boyfriend who seems to be under the illusion that they are still together.

What starts as a coincidence after their first day of Sophomore year of high school, turns into a situation that proves difficult for them both to extricate themselves from.
