Derrick couldn't pinpoint how exactly he got involved with Caroline Abernathy. Although "involved" was not exactly the word for it, their relationship was the most platonic one he had ever known. He was determined to focus on his career, having just been drafted to New York, after the disaster that occurred with the Senators. Derrick had sworn off of relationships for a while, especially with Caroline, who carried a truckload of baggage herself.

Things were going great for Caroline. She was getting married to the man of her dreams. They had just moved into an apartment in the city together. She had gotten a near-perfect score on her LSATs. She had gotten into Columbia's Law School. Then, Adam gets an offer from the Cubs. A large offer. One that his agent thinks is too large to disregard.

All of a sudden, her fiance is 800 miles away and she's spending most of her time with Darcy McKane's younger brother, Derrick Grenier. It was by accident in the beginning really.

They seem to visit the same late night restaurants all around the city until Derrick's had enough ignoring the fact that they've never met before. Sometimes absurdity just becomes a little too much. Yet, Derrick gets the feeling he's in over his head.

WATTPAD BOOKS EDITION There are imperfect moments in every life-but sometimes, there are perfect accidents . . . What's the point of pretending nothing has changed when everything has? It's the last summer before college, and Jonas Avery knows he should be excited. Instead, he hides out at home, avoiding his friends, his family, and everything that resembles his old life. Because nothing will be normal again-because of The Accident, when everything started falling apart. Brennan Davis knows she needs to stand up and face her anxiety-the deep, dark, debilitating dread that rules her everyday life. Because what stops her from going out into the world and just living is going to get a whole lot worse. She's leaving for college in the fall, where she'll be confronted with even more to worry about. To get back up sometimes you have to fall down, hard . . . When Jonas crashes into Brennan-in a harmless, albeit embarrassing fender bender-the two teens connect in ways they never expected. As friends, they help each other overcome their biggest falls and faults, and soon discover that while love can't fix everything, it's sometimes a place to start. Sensitive, wry, and unabashedly authentic, The Opposite of Falling Apart isn't about finding perfection in another person or fixing the things we think are broken. Instead, Micah Good has penned an enchantingly honest novel about accepting the very pieces of ourselves that make us unique, whole, and undeniably human.
