Everything was still, and then all at once, it wasn't. The world shook that day, the sun burst into a thousand tiny flames, flickering upon the Earth; the end of the world finally came and no one could' have ever seen it coming. Humanity fought back, struggling to survive these new conditions unknown to man, but the fight to live erupted into violence among civilizations. Brother turned against brother, and the world broke out into war. My family and I had nowhere to go, that is, until my father unveiled the deep end: an underwater civilization where those with the purest hearts could survive and live in peace and harmony. Those who were chosen could escape the tension and destruction of the world above, as the earth plunged into eternal darkness. We kept it a secret, no one on the outside knew of our location; rumors spread but it was impossible to prove its truth. We were living legends, the dreamers of dreams and the survivors and protectors of the sea. Unfortunately, not everyone was unscathed that reside in the deep end. My mother, was brutally murdered by the government upon discovering her involvement in the deep end and because of that, we hide and fear the surface. Ever since, they've hunted us and put a price on our blood. Fueled by jealously, hatred, and inhumanity, the world above won't rest until every last one of us is deceased. They call us many things; rebels, survivors, but we're mainly referred to as the separatists. We only wanted peace, but we received cold blooded war.

Content Warning-This story is meant for mature audiences. It features adult language, references, situations, sexual content, graphic violence, and gore. Fantasy, horror, and science fiction are my favorite genres to read. They are also my favorite to write. I've enjoyed writing since I won my first writing contest in the fourth grade. That was over twenty-five years ago and I haven't shared a sinlge word of it. Imposter syndrome is a bitch! Well, I finally managed to pull the trigger. Here is "O Negative". It's a mix of all of my favorite genres. I've mixed a fantasy, based on present-day Earth, with plenty of graphic horror and wrapped it all up within a world driven by the technological advancements that only can be obtained from millions of years of civilation. A small group of strangers find themselves surviving in a decimated world. It's bad enough to be stranded in a no-name town, but things become surreal when you realize the vast majority of humanity has died...it becomes terrifying when you realize you aren't that lucky to be alive. "Survivor's Guilt" isn't a thing when you find yourself the sole food source for an entire group of beings that no longer need to hide in the shadows. Man is no longer at the top of the food chain...they are now the cattle.
