Will you change with the times, and flow ever with the tides of fate? Or will you defy the heavens and train for the pinnacle?

In a land wrapped in darkness and war, 珮灵 (Pei Ling) was born; however he was sickly and frail. His family left him in the mountains for the wolves. He was found by a escaping spirit cast down from one of the Holy Trinity Planes, who inhabits him and restores his broken meridian vessels.

The spirit also causes the boy to grow overnight from a frail babe to a healthy young boy near the age of 12. The family is overjoyed to find him, and thinks of him as a blessing from the gods.

They are thrilled to find out that his aptitude for the spirit magics is beyond any child of the village, but the young boy seemed to be haunted by something that made his skin pale and his face dark.

When his village faces an attack from the darkness like they've never seen before, Ling is swept away from his family by chaos and the army of the darkness. It is there that he discovers that not all is as simple as black and white.

Dawn will come in this cold and twisted world -- but at what price?

The story follows Pei Ling as he grows and experiences the world.
