Nico di Angelo is the "death boy". Everyone hates him, and he has absolutely no friends. He is mistreated, and thinks of himself as the person who makes the cheery world gloomy. After losing his mother and sister in a car-wreck, he has always blamed it on himself. He never met his father, and he has no other known relatives. Nico is bullied, and learns things from other people, for he stays away from school.
One day, Nico is cornered by some street thugs. After a serious beating, he is left alone in an alley to bleed his life away. A boy finds him, and takes him home, seeing to his injuries. His name is Will Solace.
Nico doesn't want to like Will, but he just can't resist those sunny smiles, that joyous laugh. He finds himself falling for Solace, but doesn't know whether it's good or not. What will happen to Will and Nico? Will they have a happy life? Or will they face dangers beyond comprehension?
