The Promise Ring

His blue iris looks into my green ones. His left hand clutches on to my right one. Bringing his right hand behind his back, he pulls out a purple velvet box. I gasp in surprise already knowing where this is going. "Annabeth Louise Rose, I love you and I will protect you forever and always. And I will marry you one day." Once his sentence ends, he opens the box to reveal a single diamond ring. He then picks it up gently as slides it onto the middle finger of my left hand. The diamond sparkles as the sun slowly descends down the horizon. I never really thought I'd meet him again. But he just had to become famous and be on my show. My heart still loves him but my mind says otherwise. 'He'll break your heart all over again' My mind reminds me. My walls are built up high, not wanting anyone to break my soul again.
