Lyra is a sixteen year old girl. She's not doing too great in lessons, disobeys her parents and has recently got some tattoos. She's also an elf, and if that's not bad enough, she's expected to rule over Alfheim when her Mother croaks it. 

In order to sort her out, her parents decide to send her through a portal to the human world, where she has to manage with no magic, actual relationships and gym class.
