Mabel sees something in the woods and dipper suspects it is a creature of phenomena from his journal. He enlists the mystery shack crew to help him get to the bottom of this mystery, but soon goes missing himself followed by other characters in the story. Wendy then decides to save him herself with the help of the mystery shack crew. Throughout the story risks are taken, friendships dissolve, and secrets are revealed.... But is it really that big of a mystery?? You will have to find out!

After a terrible car crash resulting in the death of their parents, 17 year olds Dipper and Mabel Pines are sent back to Gravity Falls to live with their Grunkles. Mabel now hates Dipper, and blames him for the crash, since they were only out getting him his anxiety medication. The Grunkles don't fully agree with Mabels logic, but are still distant with Dipper, for they think he's a freak because of his anxiety. And so in the one place he felt he could truly call home, Dipper was now alone and hated by the "family" that once loved him. One night, Dipper overhears the family talking about how useless he is and, doing the only thing he knows, he runs.
