Have you ever liked a boy so much that you just shut down when your around him? It's almost like you are captivated by him, watching his every movement and thinking about how great he is.

That's how Shelby Mayer feels about a boy named Ashton Irwin.

They've known each other since freshman year and now in their senior, things finally begin to heat up. However they don't go the way Shelby wants them to. Ashton has made it clear that he only wants the benefits of dating, but doesn't want to date her. She on the other hand would love a relationship, but he's already shot her down.

So she plays along with all his little games and settles for friends with benefits, just to keep him around. But his constant flirting with other girls, his little lies, his forgetting all about her are really starting to bother her and she confides in her closest friend.
