Story: He failed a grade, and is now in the same grade and class as the girl he and his friends torment daily. He doesn't particularly like her at first, but after seven months of knowing her, he begins to grow fond of her.

Story: He is not a main character. Val is one of Opal's tormentors, and one of Bradley's friends, and he absolutely HATES Opal's guts. He bullies her daily by telling her mean things and lowering her self esteem.
