This story is based off of a sort of myth I conceived. A vulture that uses people's deepest fears or regrets to persuade people kill themselves, this creature dies if it doesn't do this. This 'thing' is Proudly inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's 'The Raven', the Greek Sirens, and 'Shinigami' from Tsumugi Ohba's 'Death Note' manga series. This creature targets a young man named Molliss Beckamert, what the vulture anticipated to be an easy target, turns out to be a clever and tenacious opponent. The two begin a psychological chess match, and the loser will cease to exist. This would be a closed case if not for Molliss's survivors guilt, and his struggle to stay alive without a paranormal bird whispering to him constantly, he's a tough sonofabitch. It's easy to be depressed (or easy to thrive when you're a bloodthirsty vulture) when you live in a city where the sun never fractures the clouds and downpour is a constant, where crime seems to be a happening every few seconds, and there are so many people you cannot stand out among them. There is not clear-cut frame for the story yet, I'm essentially taking ideas that I have floating around and putting them together. It will likely have horror and mystery aspects, and since I haven't come up with an ending yet, tragedy is on the table. Romance may spring up, but don't count on it. If nothing else, it will be fun for me, and that is really all I care about.
