He was furious, he had a look in his eyes. If looks could kill, someone would be dead.
He wasn’t himself.
“I want to protect you, don’t you understand that?!” he yelled at me, decreasing the space between us.
I took a step back and whimpered as he pushed me up against the wall.
Pushing his head into the crook of my neck, he let out a low growl. I felt his lips move against my neck, sucking harshly, drawing the blood to the top of my skin.
I let a whimper escape my mouth as i felt his teeth graze the spot on my neck. Marking me as his. He pulled away after leaving a sloppy kiss on the purplish mark that he left he. He blew cool air across my neck, making me shiver deeply. He pulled back and came close to my ear as he said “You are mine!”

I wouldn't say we're dating, but the bright line that's made between friendship and relationship is now a blurry mess. I've never been through anything like this before. The hand holding, the kissing, and the flapping of butterflies that never seems to go away every time I'm around Ashton. This is all so confusing, but in another sense, it's the only thing that makes sense." ~*~ At age ten, Mackenzie Elle Servet didn't think that there was anything with Ashton Jacob Lotest. All the girls in her fifth grade class only talked about him. Mackenzie, who helps her aunt as a cashier, actually talks to Ashton for the first time. He won't stop smiling, and it throws her off. People around town never smiled that much. Now in present time at age seventeen, she hasn't talked to Ashton ever since he bought a bottle of dog shampoo. Mackenzie has pushed back the thoughts of him in the deepest parts of her mind and never tries to bring them to surface. Why should she? It's just a little crush, right? When Ashton notices Mackenzie with dirt covering her cheeks, he tries everything to get to know her. Letting thoughts resurface and secrets become revealed allows Mackenzie to have the best summer of her life with Ashton being by her side. But with Ashton moving out of their small town to go to college and Mackenzie staying to help her aunt, their relationship becomes tested. Ashton's glare flicks between the beer bottle and the commotion outside before settling on me. He takes a slow step forward, and I unconsciously take two back until I'm flat against the wall behind me. His body is flush against mine. Our lips centimeters apart as his knuckles drag across my cheek. It takes an incredible amount of strength to resist the urge to lean against them. "You know, you have this really annoying habit. This habit of sticking that cute little nose of yours..." He flicks my nose and I smack his hand away, meeting his glare with my own. "...into shit that has nothing to do with you." All this time I've forgotten who I'm dealing with. I met Ashton as the composed new kid. A random person with a random story completely separate of mine. But as he inches forward, angry blue eyes illuminated by the fireworks outside, I'm reminded of just how dangerous Ashton Brooks really is. And just how much both of us have to lose. "And you know what they say," he whispers, tilting my chin up. "Curiosity killed the cat." *** Where two broken souls meet to repair the damage inflicted by their intertwined pasts.
