Misunderstood

"No, you can't like me," I said as I pushed Jace away. I start to run as fast as I can, only to trip onto the ground.

"Sage, you have no idea how crazy I am about you," he said removing the strands of hair from my face. We lock gazes, but I push him away once again.

"This is not part of the deal."

"Screw the deal. There are things about you that make me go crazy.." I shake my head frantically, attempting to get away from him once again. He's lying.

"No. Stop! I'm broken can't you see!" I yelled at him. I want him to see what I see. That somebody broken is standing right in front of him. Nobody can love a broken person.

"You're not broken, Sage. You're just Misunderstood......"

Sage Lockwood is not your typical girl. She not sociable doesn't have any friend but she say it's be better that way. So she doesn't have to answer daily question like 'How are you feeling?' Pathetic she would say, or 'What's that on your cheek?' Bruise of course. That's right bruises from her father. After her mom died in a terrible car accident her father blames her but even she blames herself. Why wouldn't she? It was her fault she died.

Jace Matthews is high schools golden boy. Good at sports and in all getting any girl he wants. He has his life all figured out 'Says his father.' Too what college he to attend to he is too marry. Marry? Yes, as crazy as it sound but he won't put up with it much longer.

He runs in to Sage one day in the schools corridors crying her eyes out. Why you might ask? Her father came got home drunk and beat her for killing his beloved wife.

She make Jace swear he won't say any thing about the bruises on her face. He won't but under one condition that she becomes his girlfriend for all senior year. Why would he want me to be a fake girlfriend. Even the word seem foreign coming out of her mouth.

"Girlfriend.........?"

The deal is sealed with a kiss..... Or will it just end in heart break?
