Renee Asami didn't expect much out of her life for sixteen years... Until shortly after her birthday, unnatural things begin to happen. Victoria lucklane is a young woman from New York City. Until recently, she was the eldest and most mistreated child of a drunkardess. But now the restless, spirits of the dammed, of the plantation are reaching out for Victoria's help. What will she do as old friends and new enemies come strolling into her life? What will she do to ease the spirit's suffering? What will she lose in return? She might not make it out with even her life.
