(Author: This story and others have been living rent-free in my head for a while. My own dark take on the "war, but with dragons" concept, this is the start of an anthology of stories. An encounter with a special type of people sparks a determination that cannot be swayed, and from then on she vows to protect and to help the creatures, before things get out of hand. Will she be too late to save both humans and ferliobogs? Or will one species die out at the expense of the other?
