Detective Lawliet Deidre, and his wife, Officer Viv Deidre are met with a reality that no parent wants to face. Their foster child, Jordan, was brutally murdered and found dead in the home of his biological father, Drew Smite. With lack of evidence and a motive, everybody in the police department still suspected Drew above all others to be the one responsible. All except Detective Lawliet and close friend Officer Zac Cory.

While knowing that this can't be the end of the case, they must very secretly find a way to apprehend and expose the true killer of the Deidres' foster child. Before an innocent man is charged with murder. Before Lawliet has completely fallen off the edge of sanity, and the grief of his child's murder becomes too much for him to live with.
