-------
Before the thorns were bound to his head, the King of Thornacre used to be renowned for being the proud, charismatic and mighty ruler of Darkwell. After having to abdicate due to an unforgivable sin, the King and his three daughters were banished to the wasteland of Thornacre where time runs differently. The new King must wear the jagged thorned crown, a crown enchanted to prolong his life. A crown that tied him to his unwanted reign, a reign that could only be passed on to a male heir.
After years of ruling among other villains and wrongdoers such as himself, the Thorn King wishes for his life, and rule, to end. With three daughters and no sons, he has to resort to marrying his eldest daughter, Ainya, to a fine young suitor fit to rule over the wretched land. But Ainya has no intention on marrying anybody.
When Ainya goes missing, the King must decide whose priorities to put first, his death wish or his daughters' safety.
