Everyone knows Hansel and Gretel's side of the story. An evil witch tries to kill and eat them, but they escape. It's familiar, it's easy, and it's entirely one-sided. What about the witch? Why did she do what she did? Why does she eat children? And why do we never get to hear her side of the story? This short-story gives the reader a new perspective to the old fairy-tale, and shows why the term evil is entirely relative.

Night Witch

53 parts Complete

The day Vasilisa Hedge was murdered for witchcraft, she left behind three things: a bloodthirsty village, a magickal daughter, and a soul-stealing doll. Now Karina, Vasilisa's daughter, is grown up and accused of witchcraft herself. Banished from her village to the Forest of the Dead along with Hans Pinkerton, the imperious son of a warlock, they embark on an epic Hansel and Gretel story to their freedom. Along their way they discover the past and the fear it creates inside their hearts, the dangerous Fountains of Youth and Animalia, and Baba Yaga, a yaga with more secrets up her sleeve than magick, and the Dark and Light that threaten to destroy their very souls. A fairytale retelling of Vasilisa the Beautiful, Hansel and Gretel, Baba Yaga, and Brother and Sister. Amazing cover made by @seventhstar.
