Michiko thinks he's crazy and is just messing with her but Kou actually pursues, trying to act as the perfect boyfriend everybody dreams of. He wouldn't care when people label them as an odd couple, he would prove to them soon that Michiko and he will become the “best couple” in school. He would flirt with her publicly and openly shows sweet gestures to her. To Michiko, this is just too unexpected and she heard from the others that Kou was a timid student so she can't understand what's happening to him and thinks that maybe he's trying too hard and somehow feels the need to make him realize that being one's true self is better than changing to have others' approval.
