Story of Raya, a young witch of African descent, living on an isolated island off the coast of South Carolina among the Witches of the Midnight Orchid. Their lineage traces back to the time of slavery and the famous witch of Salem, Tituba. Raya is the daughter of the Queen of the Collective, and will one day inherit the throne. Raya's life seems idyllic until she learns of a long-held secret that threatens life as she knows it, and could destroy her connection to her family. Raya's destiny lies before her, and only she can hope she can maintain some semblance of control before this secret destroys everything.
